  7. Year 11 GCSE Intervention • The Intervention Programme is designed to serve students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining their academic grade level

  8. Aim • To help students achieve their target grades • Provide support for students • Set up appropriate methods to aid students in progressing their learning

  9. How? • Data capture every half term • CT intervention grids • Curricular SPAR reports • Using this data, support/monitoring will be provided for underperforming students • If students continue to underperform we will work with you together to help provide strategies that can progress the student’s learning

Preparation • Year 9 – careers advice, careers events and preliminary research • Year 10 – careers advice, careers events, guidance, further research, CV and personal statement writing and initial interview skills • Year 11 – careers advice, guidance, final research, CV and personal statement finalisation, further interview training and applications for post 16 options

Explaining the different levels of the courses available • Level 3 courses are for students achieving for 4/5 GCSEs or more including English and Maths at grades A* to C • Level 2 courses are for students achieving GCSEs at a grade D to E • Level 1 courses are for students achieving GCSEs at grades F to G

Year 11s – What to Do in the Autumn Term • Look at help you choose and shortlist courses and open days • Go to Open Days and Events • Check deadlines • Have a back up plan • Complete your applications before Christmas • This year students have to apply to the individual institutions • Popular courses will be filled very quickly • Check with colleges and training providers to see if you are eligible for any funding
