Non-Objective Pattern ink drawingDrawing must contain 3 of the following design qualitiesOne from each category • Composition • SYMMETRICAL COMPOSITION • ASYMMETRICAL COMPOSITION • Mark making • SHAPES AS PATTERNS • LINES AS PATTERNS • Design • Repetition-repeating same image in same direction. • Alternation-repeating image and changing direction once and repeat. • Rotation-repeating image full circle. • Mirror image-image repeated in the opposite direction. • Radial design-objects emerge symmetrically from the center

  10. DRAWING REQUIREMENTS • MUST BE NON OBJECTIVE-CANNOT RESEMBLE ANY REAL OBJECTS-IMAGE DEPICTS LINE, SHAPE,VALUE AND PATTERN ONLY • MUST BE IN INK ONLY • MUST DEPICT AT LEAST THREE OF THE NINE DESIGN QUALITIES IN THE PREVIOUS SLIDE • DRAWING MUST BE MATTED
