  1. Operational Capability: Deploying a tailored spectral dust over individuals, equipment or locales from a UAV Dust electro statically attaches to clothing/equipment and can be detected by hyper spectral sensor Spectral sensor capable of detecting tagged personnel and equipment. Utilizes an existing UAV which will be modified to dispense dust ROM Cost and Schedule – Can be accelerated Task 1 Period of performance 6 months ROM cost - $1.5M Task 2 – 4 months ROM cost - $300k Task 3 – 2 months ROM cost - $200k Status of components UAV exists and is presently fitted for visual surveillance. Spectral dust exists – spectral purity has been demonstrated Email: wayne.s.hammond@boeing.com Proposed Technical Approach: Task1: Determine and test spectral dust characteristics Determine concentrations required for hyper spectral detection on personnel Modify UAV to deploy dust Task 2: Determine dust scatter patterns and concentrations as a function of UAV speed, altitude, wind and release rates Task 3: Field test system in different environments Wayne Hammond 253 773-1955 28 November 2001 FORWARD PASS ConsortiumTagging from a UAV
