KAPOW – Kids and the Power of Work Lesson 6 Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642) He was an Italian physicist, mathematician, engineer, astronomer, and philosopher who played a major role in the scientific revolution. His achievements include improvements to the telescope, consequent astronomical observations and inventing an improved military compass and other instruments. In 1633 the Roman Inquisition convicted Galileo Galilei of heresy for publishing scientific information arguing that the earth revolved around the sun, “which is contrary to the true sense and authority of Holy Scripture.”.

She overcame the challenging technical problems, gender bias and financial obstacles. John F. KAPOW – Kids and the Power of Work Lesson 6 • Game: Trivia • Rules: • Each student will pick a colored card. • We will have 10 questions to be answered. • Student must raise the card in order to answer the question. • Student must wait to be chosen to answer the question. • Student should not call out the answers. • If student call out the answer without being chosen, he or she will not be allowed to continue the game.

Meteorologist 10) What force pulls all objects toward the center of the Earth? Gravity.
