Rising Action The main conflict is revealed, and all of the events that lead up to the climax. PLOT Resolution The final outcome of the story. How did it end? (AKA denouement) Exposition The beginning of the story, where the characters and setting are introduced. The sequence of events in a story. • Setting • Where and when the story takes place. • Time • Year • City/state • Specific Locations • Season • Conflict • The main problem that the story revolves around. • Character vs. character • Character vs. self • Character vs. nature • Character vs. society • Characters • Protagonist: the main character • Antagonist: the character or thing that goes against the protagonist. • Dynamic: a character who changes in some what during the story. • Static: a character who stays the same throughout the story.
