Ana Acton, Chief, Independent Living and Assistive Technology Section (ILATS), Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). • Ana has worked in the independent living field for seven (7) years; was the Executive Director for the FREED Independent Living Center in Nevada City then now serves as Chief of ILATS as of July 2010 • Ana works with 29 ILC’s, the Assistive Technology Network, the State Independent Living Council, and 7 traumatic brain injury (TBI) program sites throughout California.  Building Collaboration between DOR, ILC and TBI Service Sites Ana Acton (DOR) Department of Rehabilitation

Dan Clark, Community Resources Development Specialist (CRDS), ILATS DOR. • Dan has 33 years experience with DOR; including 15 years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor working primarily with individuals who are severely disabled including consumers with TBI.  • Dan has worked 18 years as a Specialist working with ILCs statewide.  In 2010 Dan became a DOR TBI Specialist.  Building Collaboration between DOR, ILC and TBI Service Sites Dan Clark (DOR) Department of Rehabilitation

Develop and promote collaboration and partnerships between ILCs, government, and community organizations serving individuals with TBI. • Provide ILC and other community organization staff information about DOR’s activities, initiatives and resources directed toward coordinating, improving and increasing TBI services statewide. DOR Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services • DOR’s vocational rehabilitation services assist Californians with disabilities to obtain and retain employment and maximize their ability to live independently in their communities. • DOR develops, purchases, provides, and advocates for programs and services in vocational rehabilitation, habilitation and IL with a priority on services for persons with the most significant disabilities.
