4. Formic Acid • Use when outside temperatures are between 50 - 86 ºF (10°C and 30°C), • & leave hive entrances fully open. • Do not use more than 2 times/year • Do not use when colonies are supered for honey • Stop treatment if temperature above 86 ºF (30 ºC)

5. Formic Acid • Naturally derived, no known resistance to formic acid • Penetrates in wax capping and is effective against reproducing mites also in brood cells Potential for bee brood mortality and queen losses under higher temperature

6. Formic Acid • Applicators and other handlers must wear protective clothing, acid resistant gloves and protective eyewear. • Although not required; a respirator is recommended when handling this material.
