  2. CNO’s Sailing Directions • Warfighting First • Operate Forward • Be Ready • “The ability to fight and win today, while building the ability to win tomorrow is why we have a Navy.” “We will address economic change by being effective and efficient. We will innovate to: • Continue efforts to invest in capabilities to address near-term challenges and develop future capabilities needed to conduct missions in the most likely scenarios; • Operate forward and ready to respond where it matters , when it matters; • Sustain our fleet capability through effective maintenance, timely modernization, and sustained production of proven ships and aircraft; When our systems are installed in the fleet, they are on schedule, they work as designed, first time, every time; That is our only measure of success.

  3. PEO IWS Objectives • Professional Workforce – we will hire, train, develop, and retain the PEO IWS Team. • Sustainment – It is critically important for PEO IWS to sustain the systems and equipment we have delivered. • Rigorous Testing – we must conduct meaningful testing of all our systems prior to delivery; this establishes our legitimacy. • Development – we will develop and mature new technologies and deliver on time those that meet warfighter requirements and pace the threat. This establishes our legacy.

  4. PEO IWS Strategy Our #1 priority: Deliver the Best Warfighting Capability to Sailors and Marines Focus on achieving requirements in a cost efficient manner Reduce variations and achieve commonality through COTS Advanced Capability Builds (ACB) Achieve enhanced capability through AEGIS and SSDS evolution Manage Portfolio from a Product Line Approach Leverage competition where it makes sense
