Northwoods Demolition Processing Pilot Project: Progress and Future Recommendations

The Northwoods Pilot Project, presented at the MPCA Conference in 2000, focuses on innovative demolition processing practices. Since 2006, the project encompasses the recycling of concrete, brick, blacktop, and shingles, with successful aggregate processing and wood biomass shipping to Minnesota Power. The implementation of a 3-month pilot project aims to further evaluate the effectiveness of waste materials management, transitioning towards a long-term program following board and SWSC approvals, incorporating contractor reports, and necessary permit modifications.
