  2. You may be asking yourself • what is CAM? Complementary • and Alternative medicine • can be used in place of • modern medicine or it can • compliment it. 3. What is wellness to you? Wellness to me is preventing disease and illness. It is when my body Is in a state of happiness. I am getting to the root of a problem instead of covering up an issue with a prescription. As a believer in CAM I think that we have to get to the root of the problem with a natural solution. Using prescription medicine may be helpful at times but what good is it to take a migraine prescription if we do not know what is causing the migraine in the first place. A little less of this And more of this!

  4. Acupuncture is another therapy that is becoming more widely used. Thin needles are poked into the surface of the body. These areas are called channels. This method is based on Yin and Yang and the five vital substances of the body; qi, blood and fluids, Viscera and bowels, and the channels and networks. Acupuncture

  5. Aromatherapy • Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils • and products of a plant origin. The smells • effect the mind and body. These oils can • be used with a massage or a reflexology • Massage. One must always use an • essential oil with a carrier oil because it • can cause sensitivity to the skin without • one. This method can be helpful for a wide • range of problems: • Improves self esteem • Raises mood • Improves sleep • Mouth rinses • Wound rinses • Pain management • Cancer care

  6. Homeopathy is interesting because it means “ use likes to treat likes”. A disease can be cured by a substance that produces similar symptoms in healthy people. These are derived from plants, minerals or Animals. They come in the form of little pellets that can go under the tongue, or they have ointments, gels, drops or creams. Homeopathy

  7. Herbal Medicines • Lets talk about herbs that can be • helpful: • Kava Kava • Gingko • Milk Thistle • Turmeric • St. John’s Wort • Valerian • Cinnamon • Echinacea • Garlic • Oregano

  8. Reflexology A focused pressure technique usually directed at the hands or feet. There are zones and reflexes at different parts of the body that corresponds with organs of the body. Here on the feet you can see what organs pertain to the area of the foot.

  9. Yoga-means union or to join. In yoga the mind , body and spirit are joined together. This is a great breathing technique and great for postural exercises. There is a spiritual aspect to it because you are expanding the human consciousness until it is one with Divine consciousness. This sounds like stretching with a touch of meditation but there is a mental process and discipline with yoga and is a great workout.

  10. Chiropractic care is one of the largest independent health professions in the Western world. The chiropractor does not prescribe medicine and excludes surgery. The do a manual adjustment of the spinal column. Chiropractic Care
