Description • Use sound waves to capture images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis and treatment of medical issues. • Operate ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. • Schedules and coordinates test • Records test results • Prepares and maintains operational logs. • Maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed.

  3. Education • Requires a two year health degree. • Completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound Technology. • Ultrasound technologists sometimes register with the ARDMS (The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography). • Ultrasound technologist must keep their skills up to date in order to maintain a valid certification.
