This paper presents a comprehensive method for simplicial isosurface compression, focusing on uniform neighborhood compression and stellar operations. The work explores vertex signs and adaptive neighborhood compression, detailing the control of topology and distortion. By utilizing regular and irregular base data, the method provides refinements for geometry encoding and prediction. The results demonstrate effective arithmetic encoding with context-specific strategies, paving the way for advancements in image decoding and topology characterization. This research was showcased at the 9th International Fall Workshop on Vision, Modeling, and Visualization in 2004.
