  2. Some questions to think about • What does a company do when it needs more employees? What procedures are involved? What changes are made inside the company? What happens to the new employee? There are 7 steps in the recruitment process

  5. 2: Do a job analysis • What are the duties? Collect information about the job • What skills are needed? • What equipment or machinery is used? • What training or knowledge is needed?

  7. 4: Write a job specification This is a summary of the personal qualities that are required to do the job.

  8. 5: Advertise the job A Job advertisement should include: 1. The title of the job being advertised 2. An outline of the main duties involved 3. The kind of person you are looking for (age, experience, qualifications) 4. The benefits you will provide (salary, transport allowance, visa) 5. Reply arrangements: how to apply, who to contact, closing date for applications

  9. 6: Shortlist the applicants Which applicants closely match the Job specification and Job description? Q: Which person is most suitable ? Q: Which person is a possible match ? Q: Which person is unsuitable ?

  10. 7:Conduct selection interviews Select time, date and place for interview Decide how many interviewers Invite the short listed applicants Prepare closed and open questions Listen carefully to each applicant Find out as much as you can about them Explain the conditions of the job Tell them when a decision will be made
