  4. 240 active systems • 46 states, DC, Puerto Rico • 80% of U.S. population • 16 million calls in 2009

  5. Administered in four 2-1-1 systems

  6. Six cancer needs assessed - Mammography- Pap testing - Colonoscopy- HPV vaccine- Smoking- Smoke-free home policies

  7. Cancer needs of 2-1-1 callers (n=1,408) - Need at least one 69%- Need two or more 39%- Need three or more 16%

  8. No health insurance 2-1-1 callers vs. U.S. (p < .001)

  9. Current smokers 2-1-1 callers vs. U.S. (p < .001)

  10. Smoke-free home policy 2-1-1 callers vs. U.S. (p < .001)

  11. Ever had colonoscopy (50+) 2-1-1 callers vs. U.S. (p < .001)

  12. Up-to-date mammogram (women 40+) 2-1-1 callers vs. U.S. (p < .001)

  13. Up-to-date Pap test (women 18+) 2-1-1 callers vs. U.S. (p < .001)

  14. Accepted cancer control referral when offered - Smoking cessation 80%- Mammography 71%- Pap test 57%- HPV vaccination (self) 52%- HPV vaccination (daughter) 48%- Smoke-free home policy 33%
