The other data types hold collections of values: • MULTIPOINT • MULTILINESTRING • MULTIPOLYGON • GEOMETRYCOLLECTION GEOMETRYCOLLECTION can store a collection of objects of any type. The other collection types (MULTIPOINT, MULTILINESTRING, MULTIPOLYGON, and GEOMETRYCOLLECTION) restrict collection members to those having a particular geometry type.
