  4. Castelle FaxPress Plus Overview Castelle FaxPress Plus is a complete network fax solution. Benefits provide all Add-On features and integrated solutions at NO ADDITIONAL cost.   7. Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • Server Settings Server – Name of the system (recommend using OS settings to re-name). Date/Time – System gets date/time from the OS but format written to logs, queues etc. is controlled by this. Disk Organizer – Optimizes the hard drive. Also performs database maintenance on Sunday (rebuilds index files).

Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • Advanced Functions Add a date time stamp – Puts the received date/time on the top left corner of the faxes printed out by the fax server. Configurable via header.cfg. Option to permanently add to image. Keep outgoing faxes – Keeps successful sent faxes. Enable Customized imprint – Allows changing the fax imprint on the top of each page of an outgoing fax. Configurable via header.cfg

  9. Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • Advanced Functions To enable DID receiving diagnostic – Used for capturing incoming fax DID/DNIS information. Enable Single Sign On – Allows users from specified domain to login to the fax server without user name and password. Enable Incoming Fax Fine – All incoming faxes converted to fine resolution regardless of whether they are received standard or fine.

Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • Castelle Internet Fax Send faxes through Internet Fax – Must be enabled on submitting fax server for CIF to work. Send fax through local phone lines – If no status from distant fax server after specified time fax sent with local lines. Default CIF route IP – All long distance calls handled by this fax server. Allow this Faxpress Plus to receive CIF – Must be enabled for server to accept CIF jobs from distant fax server.

  11. Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • Load Sharing This is a Primary Pure Secondary (FaxPress Plus only) will send and receive using secondary lines. Specify number of lines on secondary. Semi Secondary (FaxPress Plus or FaxPress) will send only using secondary lines. Uses CIF functionality. Secondary must be enabled for CIF receive. This is a Secondary Secondary can not be used as a primary. Just provides resources to primary. Users, faxes configuration done on primary.

Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • Email This configuration is used to specify the IP address/port of your mail server that will be used for: System alert emails Outgoing Faxes copied to an SMTP mail address. User set to forward incoming fax to remote email. The supervisor account in the Fax Server should have a valid email address on the email/other tab in the user properties.

  13. Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • DID/PBX or Routing Type Total String Length – Number of total digits sent by the PBX. Number of Mailbox ID Digits – Number of digits to be used to identify each user (up to 7 digits). Diva configuration should match (default is 4 digits). Starting position – Digit before digits used for mailbox ID. Incoming faxes – For faxes which do not match any mailbox ID deliver to this user Administrator (supervisor account) or Unaddressed.

  14. Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Server Properties) • Server Information Informational only. A good place to find the serial number and IP address via the client.

  15. Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Demo) • Users and Groups – Manually can add users or change settings here. Can add groups for routing incoming faxes. • System and Diagnostics – System information, alert notifications, tracing enable, disable and retrieve. • Embedded Services – Optional services such as archive, email gateway and AD Synch. Covered in separate session. • Drop Directory – Tool to allow sending of faxes via a “hot” folder using ASCII text control files.

Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (Demo) • Logged in Users – Who is currently logged in to the client. • Transaction Logs – Sent/Received fax log (data only, no images). • Fax Reports – Transaction logs presented in Crystal Reports format. • Internet Fax – Routing table for sending faxes via Castelle Internet Fax feature. • Billback Code Table – Codes for cost recovery.

Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (DEMO) • Software Activation – View/Enter license status here. • Approval – List of users that require approval to send a fax and those that can approve. • Fax Lines – List of all fax lines/channels. • Carbon Copy User – Option to copy user(s) on incoming/outgoing faxes.

Configuring the FaxPress Plus Server Advanced Configuration (DEMO) • Corporate Cover Pages • DOC cover page – Default and recommended to use. • PCL cover page – For backward compatibility with FaxPress. • Corporate Phone Books • FaxPress Premier Phone Books – Native phone books stored on the Fax Server. • External Database Phone Books – Links to existing data source(s) presented as fax phone books (Excel, Access, SQL and others). • Fax Archive – Admin view of ALL archived faxes.

  20. Alarms Command Line: alarms [parameter_list] The Alarms utility uses the following command line parameters: Parameter Description -board <n> Board number (required). Use the Listboards utility to obtain the board number. -line <n> Line number (required) Example: This example monitors the alarm states on line 1 of board 0: alarms -board 0 -line 1

  21. LineAdmin Command Line: lineadmin [parameter_list] The LineAdmin utility uses the following command line parameters: Parameters Description -board <n> Board number (required). Use the Listboards utility to obtain the board number. -line <n> Line number (optional, default is 1) -lines {n n+ ...} Line numbers. This parameter is used when more than 1 line is monitored (optional, default is {1 2 3 4}) -advanced <n> The presence or absence of the following alarms on the line: AIS, CRC, and D-Channel -log <filename> Output log file (optional) Example: This example runs the LineAdmin utility on board 1, lines 1, 2, 3, and 4: lineadmin -board 1 -lines {1 2 3 4}

ISDNtrace Command Line:isdntrace [parameter_list] The ISDNtrace utility uses the following command line parameters: Parameter Description -b<n> The number of the board on which you want to run the utility (required). Use the Listboards utility to obtain the board number. -d<n> The D-channel number (trunk number) on the above board (required) -f<file> The filename into which the trace can be captured (required to save the trace in a file) Example: This example runs ISDNtrace on board 0, D-channel (trunk) number 1 and captures the trace in a file named logfile.txt: isdntrace -b0 -d1 -file logfile.txt

Fppack c:\castelle\data\*.dbf • Wildcard allowed. • FPPACK is located in the c:\castelle\utilities directory • FPReindex – Re-index database • Syntax – fpreindex c:\path\filename.dbf ie. Fpreindex c:\castelle\data\*.dbf • Wildcard allowed. • FPReindex is located in the c:\castelle\utilities directory
