  1. Civic virtues By: TJ Beaumier

  2. Frugality • “Frugality is the practice of acquiring goods and services in a restrained manner.” • I chose frugality because most Vermonters don’t have a lot of money. We need to save it and only spend it when it is absolutely necessary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frugality http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.sentientinsight.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Frugality_thumb.jpg&imgrefurl

  3. Some ways to be frugal. • Reducing electricity use: If you can use just a little bit less electricity every day, you can save money. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.livetradingnews.com/wp-content/uploads/electricity.jpg&imgrefurl

  4. Some more ways to be frugal. • If you live in a city, you could buy a filter for your water so that you do not have to keep buying water bottles. This does not save money in the short-term, but it does after enough time. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.thedailygreen.com/cm/thedailygreen/images/VH/PurWaterFilter-TDG-Nester-fb.jpg&imgrefurl

  5. Some more ways to be frugal. • Don’t just go for a drive just for the sake of going for a drive. Fuel is getting more and more expensive and it is wiser to try to pack as much stuff as you can into every trip. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.heart-valve-surgery.com/Images/driving-after-heart-surgery.gif&imgrefurl

  6. Some more ways to be frugal. • Pay attention when you go shopping for food. If you look and wait, you can find the foods that you are looking for much cheaper than normal. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://celiacman.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/groceries_shopping.jpg&imgrefurl

  7. What this has to do with Vermont. • Well, Vermonters generally do not have money to waste. This PowerPoint will help those people to be frugal. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.besthelpfortroubledteens.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/saving-money3-saidaonline.jpg&imgrefurl
