  1. How WWII Began By: Bryce Cline and Evan Canizares

  2. Thesis The Treaty of Versailles is the main cause of WWII. Without it, WWII probably would’ve never happened.

  3. After WWI • Borders were redrawn. • Germany was blamed for the war, and was forced to pay other countries for their expenses. (Treaty of Versailles) • Restrictions on military buildups were made. • Inflation • Adolf Hitler and the Nazis used the poor economy, and the treaty to take control in the 1930's.

  4. Leading Up To IT • 1938 – Germany a total dictatorship under new Chancellor Adolf Hitler • Mar 1936 - Hitler had totally dropped the ideas of the Treaty of Versailles • Oct 1936 - The Axis Alliance is formed. Germany signs a treaty with Italy and Japan.

  5. The Start • Mar 1938 - Germany invades Austria • Austria put up no resistance • Britain and France took no action • Sept 1939 - World War II begins when Nazi Germany invades Poland. • France and Britain declare war on Germany.
