Strategic/Synergistic Alliances (Linda McKinley) • Objective: Identifies, evaluates and pursues opportunities for synergistic alliances. • Criterion 1. Establishes alliances with other organizations (domestic or international) with complementary missions and goals. • Criterion 2. Develops and influences public policy independently or in conjunction with allied organizations as appropriate.

Establishes alliances with other organizations with complementary missions and goals (Domestic). • PEER (patients engaged in education and research) Group will be attending the July 9thBadger APIC meeting and present during ‘Topic of the Day.’ They have also been invited to stay during lunch for informal networking. • UW Madison 2019 Science Expedition. Diep (Zip) Hoang Johnson will represent Badger APIC at the science fair on Sunday April 7th12p-4p in HSLC with an will have an ‘Exploration Station’ on hand hygiene.

Develops and influences public policy independently or in conjunction with allied organizations as appropriate. • Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSWI) is planning a legislative day on March 13th. They have proposed state legislation to enable pharmacists to provide immunizations at community pharmacies. Sarah, Heather and I had telephone call to discuss potential options; will discuss when provide legislative updates.

Legislative Report (Heather Kloth): • Direct all Public Health HAI Prevention questions to Lina Elbadawi @ (608) 266-0392. • HAI Prevention Program is offering TAP assessments; if you are interested in this, please contact linda.Coakley@wi.gov • The Wisconsin Immunization Program released guidance for measles prevention and reporting in response to the ongoing outbreak in several US states. • Due to the continued Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the CDC reminds healthcare facilities to review their infection prevention practices for patients with communicable infections. See the CDC’s full update (listed on the APIC webpage) for further information on infection prevention and control guidance
