  2. Stormwater Stormwater can pick up debris, chemicals, dirt, and other pollutants and flow into a storm sewer system or directly to a lake, stream, river, wetland, or coastal water. Anything that enters a storm sewer system is discharged untreated into the water bodies we use for swimming, fishing, and providing drinking water.

  5. What does an Industrial Stormwater Permit ARR000000 cover? Stormwater discharges associated with an industrial activity as defined in 40 CFR 122.26(b)(14)(i) – (xi) are required to obtain coverage under the Industrial Stormwater General Permit ARR000000.   11. Monitoring Period • Period: January 1 - December 31 of a calendar year. • Monitoring Frequency: • At least twice within the monitoring period. • Sampling Timeframes: One sample must be taken in each of the following time frames: • January-June • July-December

No Exposure • Industrial facilities may qualify for an exclusion from storm water permitting if the operator can certify that there is “no exposure” to storm water of industrial materials or activities. • If the facility operator can certify that a condition of no exposure exists, he/she must complete a no exposure certification form and send it to ADEQ. • No exposure must be re-certified by the facility operator every 5 years from the anniversary date of when the form was first submitted.

  14. What does a General Permit for Sanitary Landfills ARG160000 cover? The permit provides coverage for discharges of uncontaminated stormwater runoff which has been collected in an approved sedimentation pond at Sanitary Landfills (Class I, III, and IV). Facilities are authorized to discharge this uncontaminated stormwater to Waters of the State of Arkansas subject to the terms of the permit.

Authorization • For uncontaminated stormwater from inactive areas that commingle with closed portions. • Sedimentation Pond designed for 25 year 24 hour (approx. 7 inches); • State Construction Permit; and • Pond Dewatered as soon as possible. • Leachate is specifically prohibited from entering the sedimentation pond(s). Required Documents for Coverage under ARG160000 Permit Notice of Intent (NOI); State construction permit number and a statement that the facility was constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications approved by the Department, if necessary; Topographic map indicating the location of the facility, treatment areas, and outfalls; Disclosure Form as required by Reg. 8.204, and; $200 Permit fee as required by Reg. 9.404.
