  4. Why is STEM Important? • Preparing students for their future careers? • STEM skills are important for innovation? • There is a shortage of STEM workers?

Why is STEM Important • Understanding the natural (and digital) world • Collaborating with others to create and innovate • Give students the skills to approach global challenges3scientifically and in an analytical way: • ClimateChange • Aging population • Changing nature of work • Poverty and inequality

  8. Marshmallow Challenge4 • A hands-on activity • Split into teams and build a tower with marshmallows and spaghetti • The tallest tower at the end of 25 minutes wins • Practical example of Physics concepts and Design • Be creative – there’s no “right” way to build it
