Investigating the impact of salinity intrusion on estuarine properties in Chocolate Bayou, Texas. Study includes water column and sediment analysis, chemical contaminant measurements, and phytoplankton assessment. Results show spatial variability in sediment distribution, contamination, and productivity levels. Findings suggest a strong halocline near the dam, effects of chemical plants on contamination, and dam's role in salinity intrusion. Study implications for future sea level rise are discussed.
