  2. Slides Files • File Name Convention: (Lastname)_(Firstname)CICC_2019_(SESSION#)_(Paper#) • Session Chairs will collect and review all presentations at least 2 weeks in advance of the Conference. There will be opportunities for last minute slides uploading at conference room. • One file per speaker • No links to: • Other files • The internet

  3. Slides Guidelines • Each slide should have a title and put at the center top • Use short phrases, not long sentences • Use Arial (or similar) sans serif font • This line uses Calibri 24 pt bold • This is Time New Roman 24 pt bold • 28 Point or larger for titles • Do NOT use fonts smaller than 18 point, audience in the back can NOT see!

  4. Outline • Introduction • Motivations • Existing/Prior Works • Theoretical Concept of the Proposed Work • Detail of the Proposed Work • Measurement results • Conclusion • Backup Slides (If Needed)

  5. Contrast • High contrast is needed • Use dark lines/text on a white background • Foreground: Black, dark blue or cyan • Background: White • Caution: orange, or yellow lettering and lines become unreadable when projected

  6. Special Fonts or Symbols • Watch out for: • Wingdings • MS Line Draw • Monotype Sorts • Scientific symbol fonts • Asian language fonts • Can embed fonts in file

  7. Animation Slides • Use animation carefully, too much animation can be very distracting to the audience • PowerPoint default settings should be: • Effect: No transition • Speed: Fast • Advance: On mouse click

  8. Block/Design Diagram Slides • Keep diagrams simple • Easy to view • Make text readable with large font • Use all space in rectangle

  9. Microphotograph Slides • Keep Chip Microphotograph Resolution High • Add process technology • Indicate sub-blocks area by drawing boxes • Add Labels in the sub-block area • Add Chip Diameter

  10. Presenting Data - Graphs • Use graphs, not tables • Keep graphs simple and clear • Eliminate or subdue distracting grid lines • Use large font sizes including the numbering on the axes!

  11. Conclusion • Keep your slides simple • Use large fonts for high visibility • 32 point for titles • 28 point for details • High contrast colors • Highlight, do not detail
