  2. The downfall of Rome • The downfall began in A.D. 190, when Rome was attacked by Vandals and Goths. This slowly, but efficiently, decreased Rome’s rule and laws. In 284 A.D. emperor, Diocletian thought something would have to be done with Rome, or the Empire would be destroyed.

  3. The Life of Julius Caesar • Julius Caesar was born in 100 B.C. He was a famous Roman general and was born into royalty. In 49 B.C. Caesar’s army crossed the Rubicon River, and separated Italy with Gaul. • His decision sparked a civil war between one country. His main enemy was Pompey , who was another powerful general and Pompey’s army was defeated and Pompey fled to Egypt, where he was murdered. • Caesar sailed to Alexandria, Egypt and joined forces with Cleopatra. On March 15, 44 B.C. Julius Caesar was Assassinated by a group of senators lead by Gaius Cassius Longiuns and Marcus Junis Brutus.

  8. Summary of the Roman Empire Rome started on the Italian Peninsula in the 8th Century B.C. The Roman Empire expanded to become the largest Empire’s in the Ancient world and is located along the Mediterranean Sea. Rome lasted approximately 12 Centuries. Rome shifted from a Monarchy to a Autocratic Empire. Conquest dominated Southern Europe, Western Europe, Asia Minor, North Africa, and parts of Eastern Europe. Rome is often grouped into classic antiquity with Ancient Greece. Rome had technological and architectural feats. Rome created a government that was so useful that the United States and France still use today. Augustus Caesar entered Rome into it’s golden ages. After Caesar, Trajan sent the Empire to it’s territorial peak. During the imperial republican’s values began to decline and civil wars were a common ritual for a new Emperor.
