  1. A Quick Guide to Mica Cable Tape In the post, we will talk about the characteristics and application of mica tape. Mica cable tape, also known as minute tape, is a high dielectric tape manufactured with mica paper and epoxy adhesive using reinforcing to substrates of glass fibre. Mica tapes are applied to provide structure for the heating wire. A general mica tape can withstand a temperature up to 950 degrees Celsius while a synthetic mica tape can withstand up to 1100 degrees Celsius temperature. The electrical coil and cable industry use high-temperature cable tape to improve operations.

  2. How Are Mica Tapes Manufactured? Mica tapes come in the form of phlogopite that can resist up to 840 degrees Celsius. At the same time, calcined muscovite can withstand up to 900 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, synthetic mica can resist up to 1000 degrees Celsius. Mica tapes are also chemical resistant. It can insert to the action of some acids, oils, alkalis, and water. Where Are Mica Tapes Used? These high temperature cables can use for both industrial and residential purposes. It can use for power, signalling, and instrumentation cables.
