POP QUIZ!!! • Take 60 seconds to review your notes and the text. • Who is Odysseus’ son? • Who is Odysseus’ wife? • Why is Telemachos upset? • Who appears to Telemachos to advise him? • Where does Telemachos depart for?
Epic Telephone • Take 10 minutes. In your table groups, compose one paragraph about the adventure of a hero: • 1 sentence on his birth/upbringing • 1 sentence of a call to a quest • 1 sentence on the hero’s supernatural guide • 1 sentence of trials the hero undertook • 1 sentence on the hero’s final success • 1 sentence on his return home • 1 sentence to wrap it up
Epic Telephone • ONE representative from each group (the bard) will recite their table’s epic tale to members of the next table. • After the bard is finished, a scribe (a writer) must recreate the tale as faithfully as he or she can from memory. Other table members may help the scribe recall the tale. (4 minutes) • A DIFFERENT representative from each group will then recite their newly transcribed tale to the next table. • A DIFFERENT scribe must recreate the bard’s tale from memory. (4 minutes)
