This session features panel members from Caltech, Michigan, Purdue, Stanford, and Texas discussing methods to foster collaboration between academic centers and NNSA laboratories. The aim is to share innovative ideas that promote engagement with the labs while enhancing Predictive Science education. Topics will include potential sabbaticals, workshops, and collaborative thesis committees as well as the development of new coursework and interdepartmental programs. The session encourages creativity beyond the requirements of PSAAP contracts to enrich educational opportunities and strengthen lab interactions.

Lab Interaction & Predictive Science Education Charge to the Panel: • Share and discuss ideas for how Centers can • Stimulate interactions with the NNSA Labs, and • Improve Predictive Science education at their schools. • This session is intended to elicit ideas that derive from PSAAP contracts, but that go beyond what is required by those contracts. • For example. Lab interactions might be promoted by • sabbaticals, workshops, NNSA Lab membership on thesis committees. • For Predictive Science education, the Center might take the lead in • new coursework, new curricula, interdepartmental programs, degree options in areas of Predictive Science.
