  15. Tempus public HigherEducationInstitutions (HEIs) 64 Tashkent HEIs 27+6 (including affiliates of overseas universities) HEIs in the regions 31 6 HEIs are presented by 11 branches in 6 country regions

Tempus Higher Education in Uzbekistan: Introduction of two-level higher education: Bachelor`s and Master’s degree levels (first Bachelors have graduated in 1999/2000 academic year) Reconsidering education areas and specialties to labour market needs; in the coming 5 years quotas for engineering fields for Bachelors programme will be increased from 23 to 36% Development of doctoral programmes (third cycle – Doctor of sciences as from 1st January 2012)

Tempus Quality assurance Primary goal – to ensure quality of HE State Educational Standards (SES) based on integration of science and production, thorough coordination with of HEI with requirements of employer organisations The State Testing Centre - info@dtm.uz: attestation of all educational establishments regardless of their status or type of ownership. accreditation/validation of all levels of education qualifications licensing of non-governmental educational establishments.
