  3. Characteristics • Gastropods • Single shell • Often spiral shaped • Ex. Snails, Slugs • Bivalves • Hinged shells (2 shells) • Ex. Clams, Oysters • Cephalopods • Most have internal shell • Ex. Squid, Cuttlefish • Octopi don’t have a shell at all

  4. Lifestyle • Body support • No skeleton, invertebrate • Mantle produces shell • Muscular foot • Reproduction • Sexual • Male and female structures • Internal fertilization

  5. Lifestyle Con’t • Digestion • Complete digestive tract • Has specialized regions • Mouth and anus • Opened at both ends
