N-trig work, before Agile EC implementation • SolidWorks files were saved on server. • Multi-users per file was problematic (authorizations…) • Versions and revisions were saved separately in Agile (pdf/step) and on the server (SW files) • Sync was done manually • Endless discussions between Agile PLM team and ME team on the best work process • Difficult configuration and versions control • Endless status aligning between two systems • Process/documentation control manner - ‘design house’ vs. ‘production floor’ • As N-trig is a growing company with increased numbers of products, PDM system is essential to avoid mistakes • MP lines produce 1000’s of units per day. Wrong material may cause loss of many $$

  9. A few facts… • N-trig PLM is Agile • Multi-disciplines products – ME, HW, SW • Agile PLM works well for HW and SW • ME configurations are complex and confusing. For example: • Same part, different colors/texture, printed logo • Common parts for all products vs. specific parts per product

  10. Agile EC vs. PDM We knew that both PDM systems and EC are a big step forward But… we felt EC was a complete automated solution for N-trig

  13. The status today • Agile EC module is successfully implemented in N-trig. This system is definitely more than PDM! • PLM connectivity advantage • We were able to implement our processes into the system so today everything runs automatically • ME team initiate the ECOs - Can be published in Agile by both ME and PLM team • Priviledgescan be used for specific limitations to avoid PLM mess • All needed file formats are automatically generated and saved to PLM. Connectivity between SW files and pdf/step formats is kept in the system • The burden from PLM team was reduced (mainly because ME team does not argue with them anymore ) • PDM capabilities • Design maintenance is mush easier as everyone can modify everything in the system • RnD activities are managed in the system but not reflected to PLM • Everything is saved in 1 vault • All other PDM advantages • The system is getting better – not as fast as we want it but fast enough 
