  1. Adventure: n. Unusual and exciting experience; a daring enterprise that is somewhat or very dangerous and arduous. Adventure Terms

  2. Classic: n. 1) An author or a literary work of the first rank and having enduring quality. 2) A work that is honored as definitive in its field. adj. 1) of the first class; of acknowledged excellence. 2) Remarkably typical; outstandingly important. 3) Having enduring worth; timeless.

  3. Five (5) Elements of a Classic • memorability • theme (universal/cross time & culture) • style • critical acceptance • timelessnes. • These five (5) elements combine to make for a literary or film/show/drama classic.

  4. Hero: • 1) A remarkably brave person 2)Somebody admired. 3)The main character in a fictional plot. 4)A person with superhuman powers. Usually the hero has universal appeal and may have qualities that we consider “ideal” for all people to possess. The rogue hero is someone who is unscrupulous or dishonest yet he/she is very likable.

  5. Science Fiction: A story based on the application of science and technology in fantastic situations, life in the future and in other galaxies, etc. Consider it to be imaginative projections of possibilities.

  6. Fantasy: Tales of magic combined with adventure. They often involve romance and evil wizards, etc. These stories are more fantastical in nature with far less reliance on hard science or science of any nature. They are often set in the past or in a different dimension or world.

  7. Mystery: a novel, short story, play, or film whose plot involves a crime or other event that remains puzzlingly unsettled until the very end: a mystery by Agatha Christie.

  8. Survival: the act or fact of surviving, esp. under adverse or unusual circumstances.
