  2. Intro Hook: I never though I would have so much in common with a homeless, shoe-stealing, criminal. Road Map: In the book Holes, by Luis Sanchar, there are many interesting characters that have had difficult lives. At times, the book feels so different from my own life, yet at other times I can see clear connections. Thesis: Zero is a character with whom I feel many connections, as we both have had our intelligence questioned and been bullied by peers; yet we never gave up and overcame many obstacles.

  3. Conclusion Restate Thesis Statement: These examples demonstrate that Zero and I have many similarities. Give overview of reasoning: Both Zero and I overcame many challenges, from being labeled as unintelligent, to being bullied by our peers. However, we never gave up. Connect to hook: Although I never plan to steal shoes or go to jail, I wouldn´t mind having a friend that did, as long as her were like Zero.
