Genres • Pop- Music intended for or accepted by a wide audience. • Country- A style and genre of largely string-accompanied American popular music having roots in the folk and cowboy music • Rap- Reoccurring beat pattern with rapid, slangy, and often boastful rhyming pattern • Rock- A blend of black rhythm and blues with white country and western– Range of styles (Rock n Roll) • R&B- Rhythm and Blues • Electronic- Music that relies on electronic devices to produce sound • Jazz- Music with a regular or forceful rhythm
