  4. Current Research Topic: FedNet • Algorithms and Operating. Procedures for Federated Virtualized. Networks (FedNet) • Euro‐NF/SJRP with University of Aveiro & BTH Sweden • Current research: • Scaling behavior of virtualized router platform • Identifying effects in the packet stream caused by virtualization • Future topics: • Derive models of scaling behavior (linear or something else?) • Path behavior with multiple virtualized routers • Video streaming on virtualized routers and links

Current Research Topic: OptFI • Optimization Challenges in the Operation of the Future, Federated Internet (OptFI) • Vienna Science, Research and Technology Fund in conjunction with Vienna University of Technology • Current topics: • Mapping multiple application slices into a federated shared substrate • Description parameters for slices and the available network resources • Research questions on the Virtual Network Embedding Problem • Future work: • Evaluate multiple optimization based mapping approaches • Discuss and evaluate tradeoff between optimization time and “return of investment” • Timeframe of slice mapping and resource continuity
