  7. Top 10 rude things students do to teachers:1. Talk while the teacher is trying to teach2. Not raise their hand3. Not say “Please,” “Thank you,” and “Excuse me.”4. Talk back5. Make no attempt to hide their boredom, irritation, or anger6. Not pay attention7. Use physical or verbal aggression to get their way8. Swear9. Continue a behavior when asked to stop10. Use disrespectful body language (rolling eyes…etc).

Punish the whole class for something one person did5. Call on you when we know you don’t have the answer6. Say sarcastic things7. Talk down to you8. Accuse you of doing things based on suspicion, not facts9. Not listen to your side of the story10. Play favorites

  11. Get out a sheet of lined paper and number it along the side 1-25.

  12. I will read a statement. If you usually do this thing write a U, if you sometimes do this write an S, if you never or not usually do this write an N.

  13. Count all the N’s you had and write the total at the bottom.

  14. If you had:0-5: You have pretty good manners6-10 : You should consider getting better manners11-15 : You definitely need to get better manners16-20: You might be considered rude20-25: You are a “rude” person and really should take a look at yourself and your manners

MANNERS SKIT ASSIGNMENT MANNERS SKIT ASSIGNMENT • Role – You and your group have been asked by our Principal to go to some of the elementary schools in the area and, as part of an assembly, do a skit that teaches them important manners for middle school. • Audience – Your audience is the 6th graders at the nearby elementary schools. • Form – You will perform a 1-3 minute skit. • Topic – Your skit will show the importance of the manner you are trying to encourage and how it can be improved. • Role – You and your group have been asked by Principal Sumner to go to some of the elementary schools in the area and, as part of an assembly, do a skit that teaches them important manners for middle school. • Audience – Your audience is the 6th graders at the nearby elementary schools. • Form – You will perform a 1-3 minute skit. • Topic – Your skit will show the importance of the manner you are trying to encourage and how it can be improved.
