Personnel Changes and Completed Projects • Personnel Changes • Mr. Terry Eisenhour, hired as PERS-33 Division Director • Mr. John Courtney, hired as PERS-261 Branch Head • Currently working to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Courtney • PSCS(SW/AW) Lance Partain transferring in October to report to CVN 71 • Complete Process Improvement Initiatives • Involuntary Separation Pay/Ready Reserve • MILPERSMAN 1910-050 & 1920-050 released • PPIB 11-22 released 24 June • Six training sessions conducted by PERS-9/BUPERS-26, 12-19 July. • Automate Release of Loss Event on Separation Date • Implemented 6 July 2011, part of NSIPS 1.3.3 • Action resulting from September 2009 Senior PS Conference • For prior approved valid strength loss, no longer have to submit a 2nd strength loss transaction to PERS • If they fail to process (e.g. expired hard EAOS) they still require field action and manual release

Current Projects • Ongoing Process Improvement Initiatives • Centralize Operative Extensions (PILOT COMPLETE 31 Jan 2011) • Currently working w/PERS-1 and NPC to resource and implement • NSIPS 1.3.3 enhancements from the pilot that have been fielded (announced in PPIB 11-21): • Removal of ACC 400/DSC 199 restrictions for losing command • Cannot execute activity loss if EAOS has expired • Record of Emergency Data/Dependency Application (RED/DA) • Self-service RED/DA via ESR • Uses the DD93/RED • FRD on target for completion 29 July • FRD will go to PMW-240 for review of technical solutions • SGLI Online Enrollment System (SOES) • Joint DOD/VA Project across all branches of service to produce a self-service SGLI/FSGLI Process • Functional Design Phase wrapping up • Technical Design Phase in progress • No firm delivery date, but coming soon

Current Projects • Ongoing Process Improvement Initiatives • Reserve Drill Management Enhancement • Goal - Provide an easy to use process to manage scheduling/ rescheduling of various IDT (pay and non-pay) and funeral honors duty • Phased approach • Phase I – reschedule regular IDT • Phase II – additional IDT • Phase III – funeral honors duty • Phase I functional requirements collection complete • Phase I FRD due 22 August 2011 • Centralize Reserve Administrative Separation in PERS-9 • Low numbers processed (14) in 1st pilot (completed January 2011) not sufficient to assess proof of concept • Validated ‘as-is’ business process map (completed May 2011) • Teaming with PERS-913 to discuss way ahead and prep for 2nd pilot taking into account lessons learned from previous pilot (in progress) • Initiate 2nd pilot NLT September 2011

Professional HR Workforce Updates • PS Human Performance Requirements Review (HPRR) • PS “A” School Review (1-4 Feb 2011) • After Action Report approved by CNP (as the PS Requirements Sponsor) 6 July and returned to CSS • CSS should now develop a range of options for delivering the desired training. • The business case analyses for the different options will then be delivered to CNP for consideration. • Navy Customer Service Manual Conference (CSM) (20-24 Jun 2011) • Drafted CSM updates to provide information relevant to the current Navy customer service environment to include e-mail and social media service delivery methods. • PS PQS Review (11-15 Jul 2011) • PS NEC 2905 Review (19-21 Jul 2011) • PS Rate Training Manual Conference (22-26 Aug 2011)
