The MBio Graduate School, established in 2009, currently enrolls around 265 students across various biomedical disciplines, including Anatomy, Microbiology, and Pharmacology. The induction program aims to enrich student experiences and foster scientific development through initiatives like the Three Minute Thesis Competition and the Anthony Koelmeyer Awards. MBio Graduate School Encompasses ~ 265 students currently enrolled: • Anatomy and Developmental Biology • Biochemistry and Molecular Biology • Microbiology • Pharmacology • Physiology • Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences • Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories • Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI)
History • 2006 Prof Elizabeth Blackburn visit. • 2007 Working group developed graduate school proposal. • 2008 Funding obtained from DVC(R), Faculty and SOBS. • 2009 Establishment of MBio Graduate School. Aims • Enrich and broaden the student experience; • Provide opportunities for scientific and professional development; • Provide international postgraduate opportunities; • Access to multidisciplinary research platforms; • Provide increased interactions and collaborations amongst the student cohort.
