How did it go? • Inquiries – revisit – share where you are up to • Communication – Wiki, communication between meetings, check details, timetable of communication • Our roles and what we should be doing • Reading - Margaret • Sharing Resources • What are we going to share next time • Set new goals

  3. Why are we here? • To get fresh ideas to achieve success • Engage students and motivate • Learn from each other • Sharing what works • Resources – sharing • Looking at data • To have all our students achieving

  4. What is Varied Approaches to teaching reading? • Sharing a range of strategies/approaches • Matching identified needs to a range of strategies/approaches • Reflecting on approaches/strategies • Developing different strategies to meet a range of needs • Identifying and sharing approaches – reciprocal reading, guided reading, shared • E-Learning

  5. Rules/Guidelines • Take turns sharing – one person at a time • Be ENTHUSIASTIC and prepared to share • Turn cell phones off • Give apologies if you can’t be here • Be professional • Take action • Be HERE

  6. Individual Goals • What did you do? • How did it go? Share with a buddy from a different school for 10 minutes – Edward timekeeper

  7. Inquiries • Share with a buddy from a different school – What are you up to 10 minutes – Edward timekeeper • Share back with group and concerns 10 minutes

  8. Communication • Can everyone have a look at the Wiki this week and join – put any electronic resources up, any good youtube videos about what we are looking at and just a general place to share instead of emails. • Communication between meetings – this needs to be more frequent as this process will not work without it. Choose a buddy from a different school and make sure you communicate with each other at least 2 times before our next meeting (Timetable of communication) • Check details have we got correct emails

Roles • Discussion Leader – Amber (Group Facilitator) • Communication Officer – Rosemary (Ensure group members are communicating between meetings) • Minute Taker – Shirley (Take minutes and post these on the wiki) • Attendance Officer – Margaret (Co-ordinate and take responsibility for the sign in sheet – communicate with school principal regarding any non-attendance even if apologies given) • Time Keeper – Edward
