  2. Networking at Hull-Sanford Elementary Hull-Sanford Elementary School uses a client-server Ethernet network with a star topology. The Main Distribution Frame (MDF) is located in the school’s computer lab and connects our network to the Madison County School District wide area network (WAN) via leased fiber at 100 Mbps. Within theschool, there are three Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF’s) that allow client workstations to connect to the Local Area Network (LAN). These wiring closets are located at various locations in the school and are connected to the school’s main server via fiber optic cables. Each regular classroom has 3 workstations (1 teacher, 2 student) and each resource room has 5 workstations (1 teacher, 4 student) connected to the closest IDF through wall ports using Cat-5 UTP cables. The 2 computer labs on campus, each housing 28 computers, and the 7 computers in the media center also connect using Cat-5 UTP cables. There are also 13 wireless access points mounted on the ceiling throughout the school. All school laptops and iPad tablet devices use these wireless access points to obtain wireless internet connection.
