  1. Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Institute of Plant Chemistry. Project: "Development of non-waste technology for production of bioethanol, biogas and bio-fertilizer from sweet sorghum (Sorghum saccharatum Pers.)" • Growing needs of the global and national economies in energy necessitated development renewable energy and, in particular, bioenergy. • Uzbekistan is one of the few energy-independent states of the world. • To save fuel and energy independence should be involved in the energy balance of the country alternative energy sources, such as bioethanol and biogas

  2. Biological features of sorghum (Sorghum saccharatum Pers). In the soil and climatic conditions of Uzbekistan sweet sorghum grown in the country, is the most economically profitable crop for production of bioethanol. In nature, there is no other technical culture capable as quickly synthesize sucrose as sweet sorghum. Sorghum - a promising crop for the arid steppe and semi-desert areas. This is the most drought-resistant plant of field crops, tolerates drought, loss of moisture sparingly.

  3. Advantages of sorghum sugar crops: The highest yield of ethanol from the stem of the plant and its grain at low cost. High yield of biomass and grain (250t -30t / ha, respectively) The high sugar content (15 -40%) The possibility of obtaining two full harvests per season at no additional cost for planting (two mowings). High drought - and salt tolerance. Property to improve ameliorative condition of saline soils. The ability to not seal the soil, as it is observed in growing sugar beet.

  4. In the Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan explored biotechnological processing plant sweet sorghum to obtain bioethanol, and its production of waste - biogas and biofertilizer Taking into account the specific characteristics of raw materials, developed efficient, energy-saving methods for the preparation of mixtures for the fermentation of the sorghum stems and sorghumgrain Developed biotechnological method of disposing of waste production of bioethanol - cake and a bard with the production of biogas and bio-fertilizer

  5. Preparing a mixture for fermentation of grain Digestion Distillation Rectification Bioethanol Preparing a mixture for fermentation of stems Waste: Expeller Bard Biogas Recycling bio-fertilizer The purpose of the project: Development of a new integrated waste technology processing of sweet sorghum landraces that are of no nutritional value to obtain bioethanol, biogas and bio-fertilizer.

  6. Objectives of the project: The study of the sugar content in the stalks and grain sorghum landraces and selection of the most sugary varieties. Selection of effectiv, energy-efficient methods and optimal conditions for the preparation of a mixture of fermentation separate the stems and grains. Development of optimal conditions for fermentation, distillation and rectification of bioethanol. The study of the composition of the waste and the development of bioethanol production biotechnological process recycling. Installation of pilot plants for the production of bioethanol and recycling of bioethanol production from biogas and bio-fertilizer.

  7. Expected results and impact of the project: Will have developed a new energy-saving biotechnology complex processing of sweet sorghum, allowing to obtain bioethanol, biogas and bio-fertilizer for agriculture Design will be developed and installed two pilot-scale plant for the production of bioethanol and disposal of its waste to produce biogas and bio-fertilizer with high biological activity for the resumption of fertility saline soils. Will be developed necessary regulatory and technical documentation

  8. The project will allow: • Get a cheap clean fuel, • Reduce the output of toxic gases from the burning of fossil • fuels, • Reduce the emission of toxic odors pharmaceutical produc- • tion and improve working conditions for workers farmpred • enterprises, • Save natural gas for its own production of the Institute of • Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of • Uzbekistan, • Improve ameliorative condition and fertility depleted the soil • of the republic.

  9. Specific results on the topic of: The patent “ Method for the production of ethanol from sweet sorghum (options)“. № IAP 04865 • YuldashevSh.U, GusakovaS.D ., Sagdullaev Sh.Sh., Payziev I.B.. 10. Scientific and technical cooperation with foreign partners • Possibility of foreign equipment for biotechnological production: crushing device for crushing the stems of plants; mills for grinding grain; apparatus for distillation and for rectification; vacuum pumps, compressors; and instruments for controland measuring; • Supply of laboratory equipment for breeding pure cultures of microorganisms and to control biotechnology logical process; • - Internship Uzbek specialists in foreign countries to get acquainted with the latest achievements bioenergy

  11. Traditional scientific directions of the Institute Plant Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan are: 1Chemistry of natural compounds - the selection, study of the structure and chemical modification of a biologically active natural compounds, the study of the relationship structure – activity 2 Pharmacology of Natural Compounds - screening and testing of new materials for various kinds of biological activity; studying the mechanism of action of natural and modified compounds, clinical study of the activity of potential drugs 3 Agricultural chemicals - creating remedies Plant - growth promoters, herbicides, fungicides and others 4 Technology herbal remedies - the development of new efficient technologies, working hours substances of new medicines and plant protection products on the pilot production of the Institute
