Overview • This project will create a hybrid physical-digital system which will allow people with no musical knowledge or experience to play along with a live band. • It is intended for anyone interested in music, however, it focuses on those wishing to take the next step and learn about the creative process. • Specifically, the system will be setup for the user to explore timbre and texture, as opposed to the standard rhythm and pitch of most of Western music. • This is done to foster an interest in alternative forms of music and spread the awareness of different aspects of music. • Users will have the ability to practice and learn at home and then come together at community events (i.e. a band performance) to demonstrate their knowledge and discuss with others.
