Requirements • People: Who lived in the region? • Economy: How did people make a living? • Innovations: What inventions helped this region? • Production: What goods, products, food or animals came from this region? • Living Conditions: How did people live? Houses, tenements, plantations… • Rural v. Urban • Transportation: How did people get around and transport goods? • Problems: What problems developed in this region? You must include all of the items above in your activity. You may illustrate or write the answers to the requirements. Use color and creativity!

  4. Pop Quiz • Answer the following question on a the back of your paper. You must use complete sentences and put your answer in paragraph form. You may use your worksheet from today. • Contrast the economies of the North and the South in the early to mid-1800s. What were the reasons for the differences? In preparing your answer, consider new inventions, transportation methods, and the growth of the Cotton Kingdom.
