PRE - UNIVERSITY STUDIES

Form 6 is a government pre-university program conducted in select Malaysian schools. Since 2012, a modular examination system has been implemented, evaluating students at the end of each semester, fostering independent thinking and classroom participation. Students can choose up to 5 subjects, including Malay, Mathematics, Science, and more. A Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is used for assessment, with a score of C and above indicating a pass. Completion takes 1.5 years with various co-curricular activities available, enhancing the educational experience.

  2. INTRODUCTION

  3. Form 6 is a government pre-university programmethat is taught in selected schools around Malaysia.

  4. Previously, Form 6 students sat for the examinations at the end of their studies.

  5. Starting with the 2012 intake, the government implemented the modular system in the examination.

  6. The system is based on three semesters and students would be evaluated at the end of each one.

  7. With this new system, Form 6 students will learn to participate in active classroom discussion and independent thinking.

  8. In addition, this system will significantly reduce the workload as students will evaluated for each subject at the end of each semester.

  9. Form 6 students can take a maximum of 5 subjects.

  10. To be eligible for Malaysian public universities, students must take PENGAJIAN AM (General Paper)and at least 3 other subjects.

  13. Grading system The Cumulative Grade Point Average(CGPA) ranges from 0.0 to 4.0.

  14. The following is a table of grade points awarded for each grade...

  15. The score of C and above indicates a pass.

  16. The CGPA is calculated by rounding up the average of the top four subjects to two decimal points.

  17. STPM certificate is regconisedat local universities and ALL other foreign institutions.

  18. Form 6 is completed over a duration of one and a half years which are split into lower six and upper six.
