First Step: Get Ingredients. • Ingredients: ( If you want to make Double just add Double of everything) • One Cup of Uncooked Rolled Oats. 1 Cup of Plain Flour. 1 Cup of lightly Packed Brown Sugar. ¾ Cup Desiccated Coconut. 125g butter or Margarine. 2 tbsps Golden Syrup. 1 tsp Baking Soda. 3 tbsps Boiling water.
Method • Step One. • Blend Oats, flour, sugar, and Coconut. Melt butter and Syrup over low heat and remove.
Method • Step 2 • Dissolve baking soda in boiling water, then add to melted butter mix. Stir this into Oats mixture.
Method • Step 3 • Drop Tablespoonful lots onto a greased tray (Allow Room for Spreading) Bake at150oC. • Conventional oven 15-17 min. Fan forced oven 10 -12 min.
Why I Choose this Topic • I choose this topic because I wanted to lean more about the ANZAC Biscuits and why they were made and what there were made for and who made them for the people.
What ANZAC Means and what ANZAC Stands for. The acronym ANZAC was coined in 1915 when Australian and New Zealand troops were training in Egypt. The word ANZAC was eventually applied to all Australian and New Zealand soldiers in World War 1. The term is particularly associated with the landing at Gallipoli (in Turkey) on 25 April 1915. ANZAC Stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps.
How did they get their name? • Well the biscuits were sent to the soldiers over at the war – the ANZACs
