The Apple Macintosh was exposed to the public. 1986 Fiji introduced the disposable camera. 1988 Digital Cellular phones invented. 1980 1981 1982 1983 1984 1985 1986 1987 1988 1989 1987 1st3D video game 1985 Windows program was produced by Microsoft. 1989 The World Wide Web was introduced. High-definition television seen for the 1st time.

  3. The 90’s… 1998 Classroom Clickers are seen in college classrooms. The thought of iBooks is introduced. Smartboards were 1stintroduced. 1990 Internet protocol (HTTP) and language (HTML) was created. T1-81 graphing calculator becomes popular. 1996 Web TV invented. ICQ & AOL instant messaging hits the Internet. 1993 Email systems connect to the Internet. 1990 1991 1992 1993 1994 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 1997 1stDVD player available to public. Camera phones invented. MP3 player introduced. 1991 Digital answering machines invented. 1995 Classroom Connect offers educational WebQuests for classroom use. GPS becomes fully operational. 1999 Learning portals, like Hungry Minds, Click2Learn, eCollege, & Blackboard become available. Wireless connections….later known as WiFi.

  4. 2000 thru ‘09… 2000 Computers continue to work on January 1st. President Clinton to complete his 1st webcast. 2002 Virtual Keyboards made available to public. Apple releases iMac. 2006 Google to purchase You Tube. Apple introduced iPhone to public. 2004 You Tube founded. Yahoo announces Flickr. 2008 iPods made available 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2005 Discovery Education Streaming brings video to the classroom. Your Tube in use. Interactive Textbooks introduced. eBay introduces Skype. Blu-Ray is introduced. 2003 Paper Grader Xpress used for 1st time. MySpace is founded. Google announces Gmail coming soon. 2007 Apple releases the iPhone. Apple introduces the Apple iMac. Amazon begins selling the Kindle. 2001 Online field trips available through museum and historical sites. Bill Gates introduces the Xbox. Apple introduces the thought of an iPod.

The Future… • Internet becomes only available in wireless form. • Computer generated teachers or robots to teach lessons. • TV’s become touch screen. • Virtual field trips. • More children home-schooled. • Computers or Kindle to replace textbooks. • Voice activated computers with limited use of keyboards and/or mouse.
