Sue.Center: Access for Users with Limited Input Capabilities

Sue.Center is an innovative communication environment designed for individuals who cannot use a standard keyboard or mouse. This software, first named after its initial user Sue Simpson, operates on Windows systems from Win98 to Vista but doesn't support Apple or Linux. Features include word completion, prediction, an integrated email system, environmental control for X10 appliances, file manipulation, and a web service for updates.   2. The Name? The first user was named Sue Simpson:

  3. System Requirements Runs on any Windows computer from Win98 to Vista. Minimal memory and processor Does not run on Apple or Linux but could be ported.

  5. General Design The user ‘lives’ in Sue Center Letters and words chosen are NOT redirected into ‘normal’ programs like Word, Explorer, etc.

  6. Text Facilities • Word Completion • Word Prediction • Dictionary • Thesaurus • Abbreviations • Editing the current line

  7. Email • Address Book • Send • Receive • Pictures • Slide shows

  8. Reading Books • Scroll up and down • Set bookmarks and jump to them • Definitions of words you don’t know • Searching for a pattern • Select and copy to message area Books are imported as plain text files.
