  4. The beginning: • Illegal abortion in TX (except for heath risks or raped) • Faked being raped • Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee • Doe v Bolton

  5. The Case: • Anti-abortion law = unconstitutional • 9th amendment • When life starts? • Appealed until supreme court level

  6. Results: • Ruled in favor of Roe with a 7 to 2 vote • Abortion now legal throughout country • No state could restrict abortion with in the first 3 months of pregnancy • After 3 months  needed to be because of health factors.

  7. Affect: • Pro choice VS Pro Life • Women’s decision, not mens/goverments
