  1. Synthetic base oils and their pros and cons

  2. Those substances which are artificially made can all be called as synthetic products. Actually, the chemical compound of such lubricant is artificially manufactured. • Even though all sorts of petrochemical products like base stock or Base oil Sn500 are all produced and refined from crude oil processes but some lubricants are not a pure form of crude oil • These are made from modified components of petroleum and all such products can be termed as synthetic oil. Often synthetic oil is used as a substitute of petroleum refined oils. It is different from those petroleum based mineral base oils and Base oil Sn600 is one of its type.

  3. Some advantages of synthetic base oil 150: • Synthetic oils have high viscosity indexes and higher flash points this makes them valuable blending components. • They have lower pour points and thus are useful when compounding for extreme service • They have very low volatility and thus have tendency to evaporate at higher temperatures. • They can be used at both high and low temperatures.

  4. Some disadvantages of synthetic base oil: • Synthetic lubricants are more expensive inherently than general available mineral oils. • The main disadvantage of such oil is that they are limited in supply. • The specialty synthetic oils are only used for specific purposes like greasing but are available only at premium prices. • It has further greater seal-swelling tendencies because of which esters suffer. • People need to be cautious for using them in applications where they may get into contact with elastomers designed for use with mineral oils.

  5. Is white spirit can also be referred as synthetic oil? Even when just like other products they are also derived from petroleum but White spirit cannot be called as synthetic unless the molecule of this substance is manufactured in the similar ways
