This project focuses on recognizing smiling faces using a set of photographs featuring the same individual with different expressions. The team, including programmers and a scientist, developed a program utilizing various machine learning techniques, including Support Vector Machines (SVM) and neural networks. The task involved distinguishing whether faces in the provided photos were smiling, with statistics generated based on the implemented methods. Future work aims to enhance the program's capabilities in real-time video analysis.
