  2. At ELS PINS schoolwe try tobe eco-friendly. We do differentactionsthathelptheplanet, forexample…

  3. Werecycledifferentmaterials: PAPER There’s a paperbasket in alltheclassrooms and in thestaffroom and theofficestoo. We use paperonbothsides.

  4. plastic There are yellowcontainersforplastic in theplayground and in thekitchentoo.

  5. batteries There’s a specialcontainerforrecyclingbatteries in theoffices.

  6. INK CARTRIDGES Theinkcartridgesthat are emptygoto a specialcontainer. It’s in the office.

  7. ORGANIC In thekitchenthereis a binfororganicwaste. There are more bins in theplayground.

  8. OIL In thekitchenthereis a bigbarreltoputtheoilusedtocook.

  9. The 4th of February was a special day at Els Pins: Punt VerdMòbil visited our school. It is a lorry with special containers for different types of rubbish: oil, batteries, plastic, electrical appliances, paint, clothes and shoes, paper, metallic objects, light bulbs... We brought from home all sort of things to throw in them. Have a look at the pictures!

  13. Wetakecare of theorchard: Weplantlettuces, beans, peas, parsley… It’shardworkbutwelikeit!!!

  14. Children in Venus classtakecare of theorchard. Theygo in smallgroupswith Sara, theteacher in charge.

  15. Wewatertheplantstwodayseveryweek.

  16. Weloveworking in thegarden: plantingseeds, watering… Whenthelettucesgrowwe pick them. Wefilledlots of boxes!!!

  17. Look at allthe boxes full of lettuces and escaroles… theywere heavy butwewereveryhappy !!!

  18. A big applause for planet Earth because it gives us these vegetables!

  19. Wemakecompost:

  20. Thereis a compost bin in theorchard. Weput in itleaves, weeds, grass…

  21. and organicwastefromthekitchen.

  22. Wecheckthecomposterbin and mixeverythingwell. We use the compost in theorchard and thegarden of theschool.

  23. We use breakfast bags: Childrenbringtheirsnacks in bags (madewithcloth)…

  24. or in a tupperwareto reduce theamount of litter.

  25. Wereusematerials: • Everyschoolyearparentshelpustoorganiseworkshops. • Allthechildren in theschoolparticipate. • We try toreusematerialstomakeusefulthings. • It’sone of theactivitiesincluded in theproject “Agenda 21”. Itdealswiththeenvironment.

  26. With a brick and tissuepaperthechildren in Pre-schoolmade a little box.

  27. Theolderchildren in Primaryusedoilfromthekitchentomakesoap. Theyhadtostiritwell.

  28. Whenthesoapwasreadytheirteachercutit in smallpieces. Allthechildrentookonepiece home. It’s a verygoodsoap!!!

  29. Children in 3rd and 4th grade didscentedsachetswith lavender fromtheorchard of theschool.

  30. Thesachetswerealldifferent and verynice… theperfectgiftformum!!!
